Sunshine Low Humidity Today Into Wednesday Hot Humid Late Week
July 4th Outlook Remains Mostly Positive
A new and much improved air mass has arrived behind yesterday’s cold front. Clouds and showers with that front are well offshore and we have a lovely day ahead of sunshine and low humidity Dew points have dropped into the 40s and 50s thanks to all that Canadian air. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s with plenty of sunshine. The radars are nice and quiet today and tonight. Skies will be clear tonight with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s inland and mid 50s to lower 60s closer to the coast and warmer urban locations.

WEATHER RADAR
We do have a weak front that will be passing by well to our north across Upstate NY and Northern New England where there could be some scattered showers. Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England might see a few clouds in the mix on Wednesday but it should be no worse than partly sunny. Temperatures will start to move higher as we reach the low to middle 80s.
High pressure will be to our south and with winds from the west southwest taking hold, temperatures have no where to go but up. Thursday we will see sunshine however humidity levels will be slow to climb. They are forecast to still be in the 50s on Thursday so with highs between 85 to 90 degrees, it will still be reasonably comfortable.
Friday will be the hot day this week as highs reach 90 to 95 in most places and only a limited sea breeze at the beaches. We will have sunshine, no rain, and while the dew points will be rising a bit, it will still actually be not that humid! That is going to change on Saturday as the July 4th holiday weekend gets underway and a cold front approaches from the west.
The key to the weekend forecast for the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states will be whether the front can keep on moving after it passes. There seems to be a little bit of a hang up Saturday night into Sunday morning before for the front resumes moving southeast. We will need to watch this in case it stalls for a longer period of time. For now we see Saturday as very warm and more humid with highs in the 80s. Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the 80s. Sunday morning we could see some leftover clouds and in areas from South Jersey southward there could be a few showers early but then look for decreasing clouds with increasing sunshine in the afternoon. Humidity will be going down with highs just in the low to mid 80s. Monday July 4th will be a nice sunny day with low humidity and highs in the upper 70s to some lower 80s. We are going to hold on to a mostly optimistic view of the weekend as we watch models settle in on the outcome.
