Cold Front Showers Thunderstorms Then Dry Air Returns Tuesday Wednesday
July 4th Weekend Outlook
Our week begins aiwth an approaching cold front. There will be some showers and one or two thunderstorms in the mix late this morning and into this afternoon as the front passes. The timing here is during the middle of the day and that will keep the daytime heating in check. Therefore no severe weather is forecast today.
The cold front is not in any big hurry to get through the area today so we will likely have lingering clouds and showers into this evening before the front finally gets far enough offshore. Temperatures today will struggle even though we are starting out in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Most highs today will be in the upper 70s to some lower 80s.

Once the front is offshore we should see weather conditions improve tonight as skies partially clear out. Most lows will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s. High pressure will be building in on Tuesday and this is another dry air mass from Canada with cooler than average temperatures. Look for plenty of sunshine, low humidity and highs Tuesday afternoon in the 70s to around 80 degrees.
The overall weather pattern continues to be one where weather systems are moving along and we have an active flow from the northwest out of Canada to bring down dry cooler air masses. Once again, we do not see any prolonged periods of unbearable heat and humidity. We do see warm ups that will carry a day or two and one will start Wednesday. A weak front will go by to our north Wednesday with little consequence other than a few clouds. There will be some sunshine as highs reach back into the 80s.
Thursday and Friday we will warm up further and become more humid over time. It will be a repeat of the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 80s Thursday and upper 80s to lower 90s Friday. No rain is forecast through Friday. Weather models are lined up for the weekend and that means that of the three days, Saturday will be the one day where we will run the risk for showers and thunderstorms late in the day. There might be some severe weather risk here for Saturday. Highs will be in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees. The cold front Saturday is forecast to move through and more importantly it is forecast to keep on moving. That brings sunshine back with lowering humidity Sunday and highs in the low to mid 80s. Monday the 4th of July looks to be a nice sunny day with low humidity and highs will be in the 70s to around 80 degrees! We feel pretty good about this weather outlook for the holiday weekend since all the models now seem to be on the same page. We will keep you updated on any changes as we move through this week.
