Summer Heat Moving In Early
The pattern flip to a hot (and eventually somewhat humid) weather pattern has begun and we will see a taste of summer heat moving in early. Today we have a beautiful day with sunshine though there will be some high clouds mixing in. You can see them spiraling southeastward from the Great Lakes. Temperatures are going to respond quickly as low pressure offshore continues to pull away to the east. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s just about everywhere except where local sea breezes along coastal areas take hold.

Often times in the spring, things wind up happening a bit faster and that seems to be the case with the warmer temperatures. Some areas will hit 90 degrees on Wednesday and many areas will see mid to upper 80s for sure. Thursday still looks to be the hottest day with many spots reaching upper 80s and lower 90s.

There are no weather issues related to shower or thunderstorms until probably later Friday afternoon when the next cold front moves through. The front that will be moving through is taking longer to get here so it buys us an extra day of temperatures in the 80s.

The next change will come for the weekend as the next front stalls to our south and low pressure comes out of the Central Plains and heads for the Great Lakes. It appears that along with cooler temperatures we will probably be dealing with showers and possible thunderstorms at some point over the weekend. We will explore those possibilities later today.
