Storm Free Next Several Days
Today’s strong storm system which brought springtime severe weather across much of the area is now done and the weather pattern now transitions to a dry calm quiet period going into the weekend. The Satellite and radar loops below show the large system now plowing its way through Northern New England. Parts of upstate New York are getting hit very hard with heavy snow but that will subside as well over the next several hours.

During tonight a weak disturbance moving out of the Tennessee Valley but only the clouds should survive tonight as it moves through. Temperatures will head down to the mid 20s to lower 30s overnight. Wendesday will be nothing more than a mix of sun and clouds with highs mostly in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Colder air comes in Wednesday night into Thursday with lows Wednsday night in the teens to near 20 and highs on Thursday just in the 30s.

Weather models will go flat with the flow for the rest of the week with Canada shutting down the cold air spigots for the time being. Temperatures will begin to warm on Friday and into the weekend as we head into the 50s. The only threat will come late Saturday with some showers. Other than that no big storms are forecast through the weekend. However weather models are all pointing to more volatility as the ridge in the west builds rapidly northward. Weather models are telegraphing storm potential in the east later Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this with his latest post.
