The solar eclipse weather outlook for Monday continues to look good. The most important thing to remember is that it is about clouds. A cloud free day in the northeast is a rare thing but this might be as close as it gets this time of year. Latest weather models has it dry for Monday with high pressure close by. This would produce 75-80% cloud free conditions with higher amounts right along the immediate coast as clouds usually try to set themselves back inland. This should be good for eclipse viewing and there should not be much haze in the air so if it is all set behind a nice deep blue sky, you will get a good show. Remember for our area it is only about a 75% eclipse as we are not in the path of totality.

As for the weather short term we had a sunny very warm day with temperatures topped out close to 90 but the humidity was reasonable. Tonight looks good with a clear skies mixed with some occasional passing clouds. Overnight lows should be in the 60s but there will be some 50s in cool spots. Thursday will be a bit different with a south wind ahead of a warm front so we will see sunshine giving way to arriving clouds and temperatures will be about 8 to 10 degrees lower depending on location. Highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s will be commonplace. No showers are in the forecast except perhaps in Southern Pennsylvania later in the afternoon. Some showers or downpours are possible Thursday night into Friday morning.

REGIONAL RADAR

Later Friday it will be warm and humid with the chance for evening showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moves through. Then dry air comes in over the weekend. High pressure builds in. It will be very warm each day Saturday through Monday with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s on Saturday, 80s on Sunday and upper 80s to near 90 or so on Monday. No issues with rain over the weekend. Once the front clears we should be find probably into Tuesday of next week.
