Week Ahead Forecast Warm Showers Friday
We are monitoring the Solar Eclipse Weather Outlook on a daily basis. It takes just a cloud to move over the sun during the time of the eclipse and what have waited for nearly 40 years could be ruined. With the overall weather pattern setting up to be typical mid August, the risk for clouds in the East will be high. It isn’t that it can’t be clear. In some places it could very well be. But the East will be under the influence of High pressure off the New England coast with an onshore flow and this could prove problematic with cloud development. With some showers and thunderstorms scattered around, it makes the situation rather risky. The best chances for cloud free conditions continue to be generally west of the Mississippi river where climatology and the overall weather pattern would suggest a good chance for clear conditions.
As far as the weather goes for the week ahead, we enjoyed a beautiful Sunday. Yesterday’s cold front is stalled to the south across the Carolinas and the Tennessee Valley. Tropical Storm Gert is getting better organized northeast of the Bahamas but this is no threat to any land at all.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
We should see at least some sunshine each of the next for days. It will be on the warm side with most highs in the 80s and night in the 60s. Humidity levels will be reasonable. They may come up a touch on Tuesday but it won’t be anything oppressive. The next chance for any showers and thunderstorms is being pushed back to Friday as the next warm front cold front combination being their approach from the west.
