Solar Eclipse Weather Outlook Promising
Solar Eclipse Weather Outlook Promising
With Monday August 21 fast approaching it appears the Solar Eclipse Weather outlook is looking promising for our area. All day cloud free conditions are rare in the in the Northeast but latest weather models suggest a minimum about of cloud cover and a deep blue sky with not much haze. This gives us an excellent shot of seeing the partial eclipse (75%) for our area without any complications.
Today is looking good for starters at least with sunshine and some patchy clouds. The next warm front cold front combination is still far enough to the west so there does not appear to be any concern for showers today except perhaps in Southern Pennsylvania but I think this holds off until this evening. In the meantime we have more of a south wind today which means temperatures will be lower than yesterday and most highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Tonight after midnight and probably closer to daybreak we could see some downpours and perhaps a thunderstorm. Then for Friday it will be warm and humid with highs in the 80s. Another round of showers and thunderstorms is likely during the late afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has indicated a marginal risk for severe weather on Friday.
Once this front goes by, weather conditions improve. The weekend looks good with sunshine both Saturday and Sunday with highs both days in the 80s to perhaps even close to 90 in some spots on Saturday. Monday looks to be mostly sunny with highs in the 80s to near 90. Fingers crossed on this as we get closer to the Solar Eclipse day!
