Showers Around Today Hot Wednesday
We had a few areas see some light rain overnight and we are still under the influence of a stalled cold front to the south and little waves rippling along it. Meanwhile there is a system in the Great Lakes that is swinging around to the east. This is going eventually push everything out to the east but for the remainder of the day we will see clouds and the chance for a few passing showers. The lack of sunshine will keep temperatures today in the mid 70s along the coast to the lower 80s in some inland areas.

This means the coast heats up as well and highs will reach the upper 80s to around or just over 90 degrees. No issues Thursday with sunshine. Then next cold front arrives with some showers and thunderstorms later Friday and Saturday.
SOLAR ECLIPSE SKY COVER WEATHER OUTLOOK
With the arrival of another dry air mass on Sunday it looks like Monday will be a very good day around our area however it is rare that we see cloud free days here in the northeast. There seems like there is always a cloud around somewhere however few. The map above is the first look at the percentage of cloud cover expected at 2pm Monday. In most places it is running in the 30 to 40 percent range with numbers under 30 percent along the coast. At least that means that 60 to 70 percent of the sky is going to be cloud free. Let’s hope that is where the sun is sitting come 2-3pm Monday.
