Snow Moving East Arrives Late Evening
Clouds are rolling in now from the west as shown on the satellite loop below. Snow should follow later this evening as we watch low pressure develop along the Carolina coast. Winter Weather Advisories are up for most of Central, Southern, and Northeast New Jersey as well as NYC, Southern Westchester, Long Island and Coastal Connecticut for a 1 to 4 inch snow fall. My forecast map above reflects this.
Radars are loading up. Snow is getting underway in Southern New Jersey. Look for snow to overspread the entire area between now and 1am. The steadiest snow will be from 3am to 8am before it tapers off and ends. Then some sunshine returns for Friday afternoon.

Saturday is the big question mark with the next weather system coming up from the south and it will be a very close call. Latest model runs are in line with earlier runs with a low passing just offshore with snow getting very close to or just inland of the coast. We will have more on this later this evening as the new model cycle begins.
