I honestly can’t remember the last time we had two widespread rain events in less than one week. It has to be since last spring. But it is happening as low pressure moves out of the midwest and heads toward upstate New York and then redevelops right over Long Island Thursday evening. This could put us in the heart of developing heavy rain and thunderstorms that could bring 1 to 2 inches of rain across areas from New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England.
Radar is showing snow running out ahead of the main system across Pennsylvania though I don’t see any of the reporting stations reporting snow or freezing precipitation as of 9pm. Temperatures from Northeastern Pennsylvania into the Hudson Valley and Western Connecticut have fallen to the low to mid 30s. The table is being set for a tricky morning commute inland. Freezing Rain Advisory is posted for Sussex County in NW New Jersey.
Im pretty much staying with my call for snow that I made yesterday with no important changes made.
