Snow Forecasts Winter Weather Advisory Friday

snow

Winter Weather Advisories are posted for late tonight through late Friday for snow. The National Weather Service has raised snow estimates for New Jersey and Long Island to a general 4 to 6 inch range with a little bit less in areas in and just around New York City. Advisories extend southward into New Jersey to just north and west of Route 195. The also extend to the Eastern Pennsylvania, Hudson Valley and Connecticut. Weather models both last night and mid cycle continue to show a more robust low pressure wave developing on an arctic boundary. All models seem very consistent on this idea. In New Jersey areas south of 195 may wind up seeing a couple of inches and I will be watching to see whether those areas could see the advisory extended to cover those zones later today.
