Snow Forecasts National Weather Service 12302017 UPDATE
Looking at the latest model series we don’t see any important changes in the prospects for snow Saturday. This is a minor event with most of the area getting a coating to a couple of inches of powdery snow. Snow begins during the morning hours and a bit later in areas north and east of New York City. Long Island and parts of Coastal New Jersey have a risk of finishing a bit higher in the 2 to 3 inch range from this being that snow may get enhanced a bit by a little bit of ocean effect. The low develops offshore and it pulls down the next shot of brutal cold air for Sunday and for Monday. Temperatures Sunday will be in the teens. Wind chills will be below zero and by Monday morning temperatures will hit the lows in the single digits with below zero temperatures inland.
My forecast from two days ago remains the same for now. I may update this later this afternoon.
