Siberian Snow Cover Growth On Fire
Many of you have been asking for an update on Siberian Snow Cover Growth and after a brief stall last week, snow cover growth in areas south of 60 degrees north has been extensive. In fact looking at the last 16 years we are well ahead of last year (when the indicator did not work) and close to 2014-2015 which right now holds the top spot.
There are 10 days to go and latest GFS models are extremely bullish for continued snow cover growth on the Southern flank south of 60 degrees north.
If the GFS model verifies, it is likely that this year’s Siberian snow cover indicator will finish either at #1 or #2. Remember no indicator is perfect and this indicator did not work last year.
