Showers Possible Over the Weekend Very Cool Next Week
Rainfall amounts were substantial and the flooding today was considerable in many places Streams became raging rivers. Raging rivers of water flowed down main streets in some towns. Highways were flooded out. Now we see the main boundary of rain shifting to the east and except for perhaps Eastern Long Island the steady rain is done. However there are showers on the radars and this is going to be the issue through the weekend as the air aloft gradually becomes very cold and rather unstable. I left showers in the forecast right into Monday though it won’t rain everywhere and much of the time it won’t be raining at all. In fact some of you may not even see a shower this weekend. By Monday very cool air will be here and it is going to be unusually chilly for this time of year Monday and Tuesday. Monday morning lows will be in the 30s and lower 40s.
