As we watch an area of showers moving through this morning, it should be pretty quick and I’m not expecting much from this. The more concentrated area will be to the south of New York City with very little north and east. Low pressure is going to drop southeast and offshore the Virginia coast this afternoon allowing dry air to take hold and skies should become partly sunny from north to south as the day wears on Temperatures will be in the 70s however areas to the north like Northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley as well as interior Connecticut will see temperatures above 80 as those areas will see the sun both sooner and longer.

There are no changes in the forecast for Friday through Sunday. Dry air should be with us all weekend with mostly sunny skies Friday through Sunday. Temperatures Friday will be dictated by an ocean wind from the northeast so highs will only be in the 70s. Saturday we should see mid 70s coast to lower 80s inland. Sunday everyone should get into the 80s.
As long as there are no complications from an ocean low well offshore, Monday will be hot with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Some weather models were looping an ocean low back westward for Sunday night and Monday but we rate this as a long shot.
