Severe Weather Possible Wednesday As Cold Front Approaches
Severe Weather Possible Wednesday As Cold Front Approaches
What a day it was with wall to wall sunshine. The satellite loop on the new Goes 16 looks awesome tonight with clear skies overhead and the cloud line well to the south. This was yesterday’s cold front that has dropped southward, stalled, and now plans to move northward as a warm front overnight. Clouds will increase during the early morning hours and look for a few downpours running around in some (but not all) places during the Wednesday morning commute. The warm front will struggle as it moves across Connecticut and Long Island and could come to a grinding halt on Wednesday. This will impact temperatures in areas where the wind is either southeast or south with highs just in the 60s. Areas that get into the warm sector from Western Long Island and Western Connecticut westward into New Jersey will see highs reaching into the 80s.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Radars remain very quiet this evening and we don’t expect the local radars to start picking up any showers until sometime after 2 or 3 am at the earliest.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

Wednesday we could see some showers running around in the morning, partly sunny humid conditions in between, and then the chance for some thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has our area in a marginal risk for severe weather with higher risk areas north and west of the coast.
Thursday begins a terrific stretch of weather that should last into early next week with a gradual uptrend in temperatures. Humidity will not be an issue until Monday when temperatures will reach 90 or higher. No rain is forecast through at least Sunday with the next chance for any thunderstorms late in the day next Monday
