Severe Weather Ends Now It is Colder Into Tuesday
Some Snow Parts of Interior Northeast Sunday Night
This has to be one of the most impressive severe weather outbreaks the Northeast has seen for so late in the year. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes as well as hail that covered the ground like snow and then there were the 15 degree or more temperature drops all made for one very busy Saturday afternoon. With the first upper trough gone we know turn our attention to the next one that will approach and move through Sunday night into Monday morning. This one won’t produce severe weather as the upper trough is not as strong. However with relatively cold air and a very cold upper atmosphere, we will see some of that cold air mix down to the surface. Skies clear tonight with most lows in the 30s. Sunday will be a day of early sun and arriving clouds with highs just in the 40s to around 50. Sunday night into Monday morning the next upper trough will produce some rain showers along the coastal plain. However in Northern and Western Pennsylvania, Upstate NY and into Northern New England some snow is likely along with elevation driven accumulations of up to a couple of inches in some spots. None of that makes it down to the coast however.

WEATHER RADAR
After any Monday morning rain showers, it will be breezy and cold with some sunshine and clouds. Highs will be just in the 40s and Monday night into Tuesday morning under clear skies lows will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Tuesday will be sunny but cold with highs in the 40s.
The high moves offshore Wednesday and we will warm up quickly on a west southwest flow. Sunshine will take highs through the 50s to near 60 Wednesday afternoon. Ahead of the next cold front Thursday we will see sunshine giving way to arriving clouds and the chance for late day showers. Highs Thursday will be in the low to mid 60s. Then it is back down with a shot of colder air for Friday into next weekend. For Thanksgiving week there is much uncertainty regarding cold air from Canada and how much of it makes into the Eastern US. Also there are questions regarding the timing of energy coming into the west and what happens to that energy as it moves east. All of these factors are issues for the long range.
