Record Highs Severe Weather Saturday?
Here we are in the middle of the day and several record highs have already been achieved. The warm front came barrelling through last night and we saw temperatures actually rise overnight as winds shifted to west southwest. The satellite loop shows clouds to the north as a storm in the Midwest continues to move toward the Great Lakes while a low off the Southeast US coast meanders northward and weakens with little consequence to our weather today. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s this afternoon with local sea breezes at play but there does not seem to be a solid onshore flow except along south facing shore lines

All this heating today and Saturday sets up a risk for severe weather for Eastern Pennsylvania & New Jersey Southward into Virginia late Saturday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be in the 60s to some lower 70s. The risk is marginal given the time of year. Much of Saturday should be okay though there may be more clouds around and limited sunshine unlike today.
Sunday will be colder and dry with some sunshine and a gusty wind with highs just in the 40s. Monday looks dry and cool and then the next weather system and cold front head to the Great Lakes Tuesday with some rain late in the day.
