I’m not going to make any changes to my forecast for the weekend. Models seem to be doing the same thing they did last week which was to pull back on the rain somewhat a few days before only to go back to a more robust solution. Rainfall amounts should be in the 1 to 3 inch range and there will be some local flooding with this system as it moves through Saturday and Saturday night.

Once this system goes by, the blocking pattern completly breaks down for next week. This means we can say good bye to an ocean flow, stalled weather system and lots of clouds and hello to more sunshine and warmer temperatures. We could see 80s here later next week as a ridge builds along the east coast.
JET STREAM PATTERN FOR NEXT WEEK
At the very least it appears that there is no blocking through the long range period which would favor warmer weather overall at least into the Memorial Day holiday weekend. There will be fronts passing through from time to time which will offer opportunities for showers and thunderstorms every 3 days or so. The pattern is progressive so weather systems will once again start moving along.
