Rain Moving Out Leftover Showers Evening. Saturday Ok Sunday Chilly
The 4 to 6 hour shot of rain is now moving northward and into New England so for the rest of the day we have residual moisture with lots of clouds and some leftover showers scattered around into this evening. There is a dreary feel to the air which will linger into tonight before weather conditions attempt to slowly improve. Areas of fog will likely develop tonight so be cautious when travelling. The satellite picture shows two disturbances to the northwest that will play through here. The second one in the Upper Midwest will be bringing a shot of very cold unstable air for Sunday which makes Saturday the better of the two weekend days.

REGIONAL RADAR
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Saturday we should see sunshine developing across the region with highs reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s though south facing shorelines like Long Island and Coastal Connecticut will be cooler thanks to a wind off the ocean. No showers are forecast during the day Saturday but during the evening a cold front moves through with some shower. This sets up a very chilly Sunday as a strong upper air storm moves slowly across the Northeast.
GFS UPPER AIR SUNDAY APRIL 29, 2018
The cold unstable air combined with the late April strong sun will create lots of clouds and gusty winds on Sunday. Temperatures will probably hover in the low to mid 50s and showers are likely to pop up and in fact some low top thunderstorms could develop. If this should happen the air is cold and unstable enough that we could see some pea size hail! In areas of Upstate NY especially where there is elevation even some snow showers are not impossible. The slow movement and disturbances rotating around the upper low might produce a few showers Monday morning along with some rather cold temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s!
MONDAY MORNING FORECAST LOWS
Monday could be a struggle with lots of clouds around as the warmer air to the west tries to move in. Highs will just be in the 50s to lower 60s. Finally we should see warmer air begin to move in Tuesday as the upper low moves out and temperatures should reach into the 70s. Wednesday and Thursday remain the two days that we are on target to reach into the 80s.
