Radars Showing Rain Moving Northward Saturday Looking Okay
Radars Showing Rain Moving Northward Saturday Looking Okay
The next in a series of low is now moving up the coast and clouds are increasing from south to north. Rain is already falling in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey and will be moving northward into New York City, Northern New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, Long Island & Southern New England shortly. This is a quick shot of rain lasting about 4 to 6 hours at most before this low moves away to the northeast. Temperatures today are going to have a bit of a tough time between the clouds, rain, and a wind off the ocean so most highs will be in the 50s to near 60.
US SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Being that this rain is moving rather quickly rainfall amounts should be contained but the radar is showing a band of heavy rain that could put down a quick half inch to an inch in some places.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Once the rain is done look for lots of leftover clouds to hang around through tonight with some patchy fog developing as well. Temperatures overnight will be in the mid 40s to lower 50s. Then enough dry air will give us a mix of sun and clouds for Saturday which I think will be the better of the two weekend days. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s in many areas before a cold front approaches Saturday night. There could be a few showers with that front but they should occur after 6 or 7pm so the daytime Saturday should be okay.
SUNDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
Sunday we will be experiencing a shot of cold air with some early sun and developing clouds. High Sunday will be just in the 50s. We can’t rule out the possibility of an afternoon rain shower popping up. Warmer air will begin arriving on Monday but the cold shot of air will be stubborn to get out of the way. We think there will be lots of clouds around Monday with highs only just getting back into the 60s.
MONDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
We can’t rule out the chance for a shower or two on Monday at this point but eventually the warm air gets in here and Tuesday we should see sunshine and temperatures reaching the 70s. Wednesday Thursday and Friday of next week will be very warm with highs reaching the upper 70s and lower 80s on Wednesday and we could be well into the 80s in some areas Thursday, Friday will see a cold front approach so that will be the last warm day before temperatures return back to seasonal levels next weekend. Other than the risk for a shower Sunday and Monday much of next week will be dry.
