Rain Moving Out This Morning Dry Tuesday Wednesday
We mentioned yesterday on one of our live videocasts that trying to figure out how much rain was going to fall was an exercise in futility. The map above shows why. It looks like Central New Jersey was the big winner rain wise with 1 to 2 inches worth as was Northeastern Pennsylvania. The rest of the area finished with well under an inch and the Flash Flood Watch is cancelled except in Northeastern Pennsylvania where rivers are all running very high as it is from prior rainfalls. There is one more burst of rain to get through this morning that is moving out of Eastern Pennsylvania and through North Jersey. That area will move across the Hudson Valley Long Island & Connecticut in short order. Central & Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania are done with the rain other than a stray shower.
Temperatures this morning are mostly in the upper 60s to lower 70s however there are pockets of lower 60s in the Hudson Valley & Connecticut and even a few upper 50s in spots. Southeastern Pennsylvania southward it is in the low 70s with a northwest wind as dry air is beginning to arrive in those areas.

This afternoon we will see lots of leftover clouds around with temperatures mostly in the 70s. Other than a stray leftover shower the main rain is moving out this morning and should be done. Clouds will linger tonight into early Tuesday but skies should go partly sunny Tuesday with most highs in the 70s. Wednesday looks good with sunshine and highs in the upper 70s to some lower 80s to the south. Then we warm up into the 80s Thursday as winds go southwest and the next front to the northwest begins its approach.
