November Weather in April Next Week Chances For Rain

If there is a bright side to all this cold weather it is that we have sunshine. We could easily be in clouds and rain all day with temperatures in the 50s but having the sun is a plus. The downside today is the wind. We have a strong to the northeast in Nova Scotia. High pressure is over the Great Lakes. The pressure gradient is tight so winds will be gusting to 25 to 30 mph at times making it feel like its in the 40s. High temperature this afternoon with sunshine will be mostly in the low to mid 50s. Another cold night lies ahead but with the wind, it will prevent a frost. Skies will be clear with lows in the 30s. Some 20s will be around north and west of the coast. Hopefully you didn’t plant your flowers yet.

The other upside to this weather is that we are not getting any instability showers as the atmosphere is stable here and will remain so. Friday will be a sunny breezy day but winds should start to ease a bit later in the day. Temperatures will also respond and nudge a bit higher. Highs will reach the upper 50s to around or just over 60 degrees in some places.

Here is a big plus for the weekend. It is going to nice and it is not going to rain. The winds will not be much of a factor. We should see plenty of sunshine Saturday. The low the east pulling away and high pressure building in the Northeast will allow temperatures to bounce higher. Saturday highs will be in the low to mid 60s. Sunday will be no worse than partly sunny and temperatures will be a little higher as highs reach the mid to upper 60s.

We mentioned yesterday that the block shifts next week to allow weather systems to move from west to east again. This opens the door for some rain later Sunday night into Monday, Tuesday night into Wednesday and low pressure moving to our southeast sets up a northeast wind and rain for the end of next week. We will discuss this in greater detail later today.
