Nate Rain Monday Warm Humid Weekend

Satellite loop this morning shows Hurricane Nate in the Gulf of Mexico heading steadily northward with its 85 mph winds. It looks like Nate will be making landfall this evening very close to or just to the east of New Orleans and then heading northeastward from there. In the mean time we are under the control of a very warm and humid air mass here ni the Eastern US with another day of temperatures into the upper 70s and lower 80s. There are low clouds around this morning but we should be able to burn those off in short order. No showers are forecast for today and tonight. Tonight we will be back in the low clouds with some patchy fog and temperatures in the 60s to near 70 for lows.

Showers are on the regional radar in Western New York and they are moving to the northeast. That is part of the next weather system which will be approaching us on Sunday.

With regards to Sunday there will be more clouds around and this may hold temperatures down somewhat but it will still be very warm and humid and there could be a few showers running around in the afternoon and evening especially inland and west of the coast. Highs will be in the 70s to near 80.

NATE RAINS ARRIVE LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY NIGHT

We will be getting some rain from Nate however the core remnant low will be tracking to our west with the heaviest rain to the west and north of the low track. The Nam model rainfall goes along with this idea with showery rains of a half inch to an inch and a half for us but with side variability. The steadier 2 inch plus rains will be in a narrow band across Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western & North Central NY. Once this plays through weather conditions will begin to improve on Tuesday with somewhat cooler air gradually coming in Wednesday and Thursday thanks to an onshore flow.
