More Stable Atmosphere Ahead More Sun Less Clouds No Showers
As Quiet Week Continues
The deep trough along the east coast produced some scattered showers yesterday in day that started with sun. Today will be different as that upper trough has now pushed to the east. This should allow for more sun and fewer clouds. It also should mean no scattered showers. We can see from the satellite that the back edge of the instability clouds have moved to the east. Also temperatures are going to rebound a little today responding to the additional sunshine. Highs will reach the low and middle 60s this afternoon making for a nice autumn day. At this time yesterday we had scattered showers all over Upstate NY moving southeast. Today there are few if any showers on the regional radar. We are good to go.
SATELLITE
WEATHER RADAR
Tonight will be nice and clear with warmer temperatures than the past few nights. Lows will be mostly in the upper 40s in cold spots and mid to upper 50s most everywhere else. Wednesday looks very good with lots of sunshine. Highs will be back into the 70s in many locations.
Thursday brings the next cold front and that front looks to be weak. We will have sunshine before some clouds come in later in the day. Highs will be in the 70s. Most of the showers with this front will be to our north and other than a low chance for a passing shower Thursday night, there are no issues. The front briefly gets hung up along the coast as it waits for the upper trough to swing east. Look for leftover clouds around on Friday. There could be a passing brief shower (low chance). Highs will be back in the 60s to around 70.
Another shot of cool air will move into the East for the weekend as another strong upper trough moves across the Northeast and into Eastern Canada. This is a stronger trough than the one we just experienced so the air will be cooler. Also we will look for some instability clouds again on Saturday and on Sunday. There will be some sun in the mix as well. Highs will be in the 60s Saturday and probably only in the 50s to near 60 on Sunday. Another front will pass through late Sunday to re-enforce the cool dry air with the coolest air moving in for Sunday night into Monday morning. Next week sees a slightly more active pattern but we still don’t see any major storms ahead of us.
