Memorial Day Weekend Saturday Monday Shower Threat
Memorial Day Weekend Saturday Monday Shower Threat
We are having to do a little bit of adjusting in the forecast for the holiday weekend. We still think that most of the time it won’t be raining but there appears to be 2 threat periods where showers are possible. We are taking showers out of the forecast for Sunday. The satellite loop this afternoon shows last night’s rain system moving east off the New England coast. We have seen some sun but there continues to be cloud cover to work through and that will be the case through the first part of tonight. A passing shower is still possible into this evening though radars are not particularly active. You can also see a small system approachng the Ohio Valley. This poses a problem for Saturday afternoon into Saturday night with some passing showers. I don’t think this is going to be a big rain producer but more of a nuisance really. Winds will become onshore as the day wears on and that will impact temperatures by keeping many coastal areas in the 60s and inland areas in the low 70s at best.

REGIONAL RADAR
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Sunday right now looks to be dry all day with clouds early that should give way to some breaks of sun but that is going to be a struggle in some areas especially along the coast. Temperatures will be in the 60s.
MONDAY MEMORIAL DAY 2PM FORECAST
Monday Memorial Day sees a cold front approaching. This creates a threat for showers and thunderstorms but I don’t think it is going to be widespread so it is a gamble whether they impact everyone. Temperatures will be having a tough time again with a southeast to south flow ahead of the front and that means temperatures again will be in the 60s to lower 70s.
