Low Pressure Clouds Rain Sunday Week Ahead Complex

Here comes the next weather system for this Sunday and for many areas this morning it is cold. Temperatures are going no where today if you are to the north of the low track. Between the rain, clouds and a wind off the ocean temperatures are not going to get out of the 40s. South of the low track it makes it into the 60s. Check to see where you are on the map. If you want 60s you will have to go to South Jersey to get that. Once it starts raining temperatures will fall into the 40s.

The weather system is what is left of the storm system that past through the lower Great Lakes and brought snow to Chicago yesterday. It may be cold enough in the elevated areas of the Catskills and in parts of Northeast Pennsylvania that some wet snow could be in the mix.

Regional and local radars are showing the rain moving eastward out of Pennsylvania. The southern edge of the rain extends fairy far to the south into Maryland and Northeast Virginia which might be a clue that the low center could track a little further south than modeled.

This should play through during this morning and early afternoon and then weather conditions should start to improve from west to east late today. Rainfall amounts should be higher as you head north with a quarter of an inch or more possible from NYC northward. Skies will clear tonight and we are headed for a nice Monday with sunshine to start though clouds will arrive during the afternoon. Highs Monday will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Long Range Onshore Flow Battle Continues

Get set for more weather systems and more chances for showers starting later Monday night and lasting on and off through Friday of the new week. It doesn’t rain straight through but the frontal boundary to the south will be buckling back and forth. At times the flow will be onshore. At other times we will get a break  as the boundary attempts to shift northward. Monday is the only day this week that looks the be uncomplicated by the developing battleground.

Long Range Onshore Flow Battle Continues

The place to be this week is probably from Virginia southward into the Georgia where the weather will be dry and temperatures will be reaching into the 80s every day beginning on Tuesday. Unfortunately there is too much cold air in Canada and that cold air is being suppressed southward thanks to blocking in the North Atlantic. Once the block breaks down late next week we should see a much better weather pattern setting up in the longer term.
