Much Colder Sunday & Thanksgiving Week
After an almost picture perfect day with highs reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday look great. An ocean storm is sitting to the east and a winter storm is well to the west for the time being so we are sitting here in dry air right through Saturday. Clouds will be few and far between until Saturday evening. The blocking low to the east will give way and a cold front will approach the coast with clouds and showers on Saturday night.
Radars are absolutely quiet and we won’t see any showers until Saturday evening. Once the front passes Sunday and Monday cold air will come in on strong northwest winds. Low pressure will be developing to the northeast. The lake effect machines will be turned on for the first time in a widespread way. Some snow showers are possible here Sunday and Monday as that cold air settles in. Temperatures Saturday will be in the 60s. Sunday temperatures will be in the 40s and Monday’s highs in some areas will not get out of the 30s.

Right now the next important weather system will not arrive until Thursday when we could get a chilly rain with a possible coastal low but models differ on this as it depends on the strength of the blocking. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this with his long range post from earlier today.
