Hurricane Season Begins Sunshine Returns
Today is June 1st which marks the beginning of Hurricane Season and it is also the beginning of meteorological summer as these are the 3 warmest months of the calendar year. At least for now from standpoint of hurricanes we don’t have anything to worry about as June is usually not an an east coast issue except in one or two rare instances. As for warm summer weather we don’t have much of that ahead of us although at least we are going to see some sunshine over the next 3 days and that will take temperatures higher. Today’s highs with no worse than partly sunny skies should reach the upper 70s and lower 80s. Friday and Saturday will be mostly in the 70s with a mix of sun and clouds both days. The only shower issues look to be late Friday into Friday night with a cold front dropping through. With that there could be a shower or thunderstorm tomorrow evening. Then it is on to the weekend that for now looks like a split.

Saturday at the moment looks like the better of the two weekend days with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the 70s. Then Sunday we have low pressure moving across the Great Lakes with a warm front/ cold front approaching. This means clouds, an onshore flow and the chance for showers later Sunday into Sunday night but with some better timing we could manage to salvage Sunday. We will see how this plays out later today.
