Hot Humid Days Ahead Scattered Thunderstorms

Today will be the first of several days of hot humid conditions across much of our area from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England. Yesterday the the thunderstorm activity in the afternoon and evening was kept to a minimum and with the lack of any real upper air disturbance swinging through, they should be at a minimum today so for most of you….you won’t see one.

Sunshine will take temperatures that are starting out in the 70s up to the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. Then it is a warm humid night that follows with most lows in the upper 60s to middle 70s.

Satellite & radar loops this morning are all pretty quiet. There isn’t much in the way of cloud cover this morning though I suspect a few clouds will pop up. Radars are quiet other than the isolated downpour that is evident in parts of Western NY & Northwestern Pennsylvania. There is no risk of severe weather today.

Thursday will be the hot day of the stretch with a west wind sunshine and the chance for a late day thunderstorm. Highs will reach the low and middle 90s. Same will hold for Friday with highs 90 to 95 and the chance for thunderstorms as a bit of a front edges through.

Right now Saturday looks like the better of the two weekend days with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s to some lower 90s. Then on Sunday we have the next warm front cold front combination which will probably mean a better chance for thunderstorms with highs in the 80s. We may be actually setting up for an onshore flow here Sunday night and Monday which could mean one of those days where temperatures have a tough time getting to 80 but let’s see how models play this out later today.
