Hermine Moving West Weakening
Gales Continue Over Long Island SE CT Coast & Coastal Waters
Herming movingly slowly to the west has also been slowly weakening. The circulation is well defined on the visible satellite loop this morning as it straddles 40 degrees north. The center is about 75 miles south of Montauk Pt Long Island or about 120 miles East of Atlantic City New Jersey. Winds have been gusting to gale force as far west as JFK airport this morning and over Long Island, SE Connecticut it has been every bit of 15 to 30 sustained with gusts to gale force. Thanks to the National Weather Service here what we saw in terms of peak winds so far.

Radar shows a few spiraling bands of rain offshore touching Eastern Long Island and Southeast Connecticut though the rain if we get any from these bands is not going to be any big deal
Notice on the satellite loop that just barely inland of the coast it is partly to mostly sunny west and north of New York City and the New Jersey shore. Clouds may push back west over the course of the day but overall unless you are sitting on the immediate coast line of New Jersey you should see a half way decent day with no issues. Across Eastern Pennsylvania from north to south the weather is nice and sunny.
Wednesday with Hermine moving slowly and erratically, but it will continue to weaken and the low center should be gone by Wednesday night. Wednesday will be no worse than cloudy to partly sunny with highs in the 80s and then beginning on Thursday it is heat and humidity with sunshine and highs reaching into the 90s in many areas. The same holds for Friday and Satruday as well. Some places could see record breaking high temperatures. Sounds like a nice beach weekend if the surf calms down by then.
