Heavy Snow Tapering Off West To East

This is turning into quite the snowstorm with many inland areas away from urban settings seeing accumulations of up to a foot with some more to go. Snow extended through all of Southern New Jersey as well as the western side of the “comma head” of the coastal storm starts to move to the east. Heavy snow continues over Long Island, Connecticut and the Hudson Valley with still a few reports of some thunder and lightning. This will slowly but surely begin to wind down later this evening and places that saw melting during the day will make up for it to some degree. This should all be out of here between 8pm and midnight. It has already ended across Eastern Pennsylvania and Westernmost New Jersey.

Look at the band of heavy snow in Southern New Jersey. Some areas are getting absolutely pounded south of Route 195. We are waiting to see the snow amounts from this area but the slow movement of this area will mean substantial accumulations in Western Ocean, Burlington, & Atlantic Counties.
