Heatwave Day 5 Thunderstorms Late Today Very Humid
WEEKEND RELIEF ON THE WAY
For many areas today will be the 5th straight day of 90 plus high temperatures. The humidity is very high making it extremely uncomfortable. The tropical dew points however are ripe for some thunderstorms that could pop up in some areas later this afternoon and evening. The best chances will be just inland of the coast. Temperatures are easing off the extreme highs of mid to upper 90s but 90 to near 95 is likely in areas where there is an excessive heat warning (New Jersey) and upper 80s and lower 90s just about everywhere else.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
There is nothing on the radar of consequence at the moment. Over the next 2 days look for more of the same. Low clouds will be coming in during the early morning hours with some patchy fog along the coast. Temperatures at night will be very warm with most lows in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Wednesday and Thursday will feature some sunshine with the risk for pop up thunderstorms. Most highs will fall in the range of 88 to 94.
Friday brings a strong cold front and a good chance for strong thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening which will put an end to this heat and humidity. Then the weekend looks excellent with low humidity, blue skies and sunshine. Saturday’s highs in most places won’t be out of the 70s and Sunday will reach the upper 70s and low 80s.
