Heatwave Begins Sunday Clouds Some Sun Today
Now that we are at Friday we can focus on the weekend and early next week. Many but not all areas will see at least 3 days of 90 degree readings beginning on Sunday but this falls along the category of a typical mid June hot stretch. I hesitate to even use the turn heatwave because 3 days to me is just a dumb down heatwave. They should have left the stretch to 5 days like it used to be and this comes no where close.
The satellite loop this morning is showing clouds from a developing ocean storm to the northeast with some backside clouds over areas from Upstate NY down to the coast. These are only temporary today and most of us will see a fair amount of sunshine.

There are a few showers on the radar this morning to the north that are moving southeastward. Hard to say whether they will hold together but a passing shower can’t be discounted in northern areas (NE Pennsylvania, Hudson Valley & Interior Connecticut). Other than that there are no issues. Late tonight a warm front approaches so there could be clouds and maybe a downpour in a few spots before daybreak. Saturday we will see clouds and sunshine with temperatures in the 80s except near the shore. With the arrival of hot air there could be a shower or thunderstorm.
Sunday will be hot but NOT THAT HUMID with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Monday and Tuesday will be hot and humid. Tuesday could see a late thunderstorm as a cold front moves through. Then cooler weather with an onshore flow returns Wednesday and Thursday.
