Heat Humidity Showers Begin Today
We are starting to see the transition over to a very warm and very humid air mass that will be with us into the weekend. Some showers and thunderstorms are crossing Upstate New York & Northern Pennsylvania this morning and some of these downpours will be moving through here later this morning and this afternoon. The heat will not be turned on today because of clouds though it should still reach the 80s. The next 3 days look to be very warm to hot, very uncomfortable, and the chance for some hit or miss thunderstorms. Highs Thursday through Saturday on average will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Hope For Much Needed Rain
We have the hope over the next 5 days that some areas could pick up some decent rainfall. I don’t have a lot of confidence at all in model forecasts given the drought pattern. Models want to break down the heat ridge in the east just enough to allow for some room for it to rain. The GFS rainfall forecast map wants to indicated rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches ending Sunday evening but how real is this? Until at least Saturday any rain will be of the hit or miss variety. After that it will depend on how weather fronts react when they reach the coast beginning Saturday night and lasting into early next week.
