Say goodbye to dry comfortable conditions and hello to August heat humidity thunderstorms. Warm tropical air is beginning to make its way northward and we will see more humid conditions developing overnight. Wednesday as a warm front goes by to our north there is the possibility for a few downpours or a thunderstorm but I’m not overly impressed by this.
Once the transition process is complete Thursday through Saturday will be 3 very warm very steamy days with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s…some middle 90s are possible in the Excessive Heat Watch area. Coastal areas will be on the lower end of these numbers with a wind off the ocean at least for part of the day.
Radars are quiet at the moment but they will start to get busier toward morning. Over the Thursday through Saturday time frame scattered heavy thunderstorms could develop but it will be the hit or miss type and some areas won’t see anything at all.

Over the weekend we may see better chances for thunderstorms particularly on Sunday as a weather front approaches Saturday night and then stalls out for a bit. Hopefully it is an opportunity for some much needed rain for some areas but for now we will just mention that the threat is there and deal with specifics as we draw closer.
