Everything this weekend pretty much played out according to plan. Both yesterday and today were very good days with sunshine and no rain. Now comes the third day of sunshine for Monday only this is going to be coming with heat and humidity. Heat Advisory is posted Monday for the Hudson Valley & New Jersey with highs in the 90s and heat indices between 95 & 100. It also appears that this will be the one hot day because the next cold front is already moving along and looks to pass through here Monday night or early Tuesday morning. With that frontal passage the likelihood of a few thunderstorms tomorrow night after about 9 or 10pm though there could also be a few pop ups late in the afternoon or evening.

We are seeing some high clouds blowing off from shower and thunderstorm activity that is occurring along the Canadian border this evening. There is nothing anywhere close on the radar however. Tonight will be warm and humid with most lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Warmer urban centers will probably bottom out near 75 or so.

Tuesday we will see a lowering of humidity with clouds and some sunshine with highs in the 80s. Some questions arise on Wednesday with regards to this cold front stalling out and a wave developing on it. This may be arriving clouds on Wednesday with the chance for showers Wednesday night into early Thursday. Temperatures Wednesday will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s and Thursday’s temperatures will hinge on whether the wave gets out of the way or not. Overall the week ahead doesn’t appear too bad. Monday is the one hot day area wide with high humidity. The pattern continues to argue against long lasting heatwaves anytime soon.
