Heat Advisory Continues Weekend Weather Outlook
A Heat Advisory continues today across much of the area from New Jersey to Southeastern NY & Southwestern Connecticut. Excessive Heat Warnings are up for the counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southwestern New Jersey. Last night’s weak system really isn’t going to accomplish much if anything at all. Perhaps the best thing you can say about today is that it will be ever so slightly less humid later this afternoon but for the vast majority of you I don’t think you will even notice the difference.
HEAT ADVISORY FRIDAY FORECAST HIGHS
Try and stay cool and hydrated. It doesn’t appear as if we will see any thunderstorms developing today though I think I will mention the possibility of an isolated shower or thunderstorm for Southeastern Pennsylvania & Southern New Jersey. The satellite loop doesn’t show too much happening at the moment with some overnight thunderstorms in the Ohio Valley weakening as the move southeastard at the moment.

As far as the weekend goes we are setting up for an increasing chance for downpours and thunderstorms beginning late Saturday afternoon in areas to the south of New York City. The Storm Prediction Center actually has a slight risk for severe weather Saturday from Central New Jersey southward. Highs will reach the 90s once again over most of the area.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK SATURDAY
A stronger cold front will begin its approach on Sunday with clouds, the chance for downpours and thunderstorms and temperatures in the 80s in most places. The front moves through Monday night so there will be the chance for downpours and thunderstorms again on Monday but the payoff will be real relief Tuesday into Thursday of next week with low humidity, sunshine, and highs just in upper 70s to middle 80s over a large portion of our area with no thunderstorms.
