Flash Flood Watches Continue Rain Tapers Off This Afternoon
Our storm system continues to crawl along in the Central Appalachians with the long ramp of moisture streaming northward. We should get enough of an eastward nudge to push the rain train offshore and this afternoon we are likely to see lots of clouds. There could be some breaks of sunshine developing across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania this afternoon while clouds and leftover showers will likely be lingering from NYC eastward. Temperatures will be in the 60s today though we could push 70 inland in some places if the sun breaks through.

Radars remain busy right now. The good news is that the threat for severe weather is minimal today as compared to yesterday. Keep an eye on the area offshore that is moving north northeastward. That area looks impressive and could produce one big wave of heavy rain in some places. It looks to be aiming for Long Island & Southern New England.

We are still thinking that Easter Sunday won’t be too bad with clouds and some breaks of sunshine. The issue however remains that the upper trough will be sitting to the west of us and only very slowly pushing eastward. This will likely mean some developing clouds and a few pop up showers can’t be rule out. Even though showers could pop up it certainly won’t be a widespread rain event.
Temperatures on Sunday will be in the 60s to near 70. We are still seeing some lingering issues with this system on Monday with clouds & some sun and the chance for a pop up shower. Tuesday looks to be the one dry day with some sunshine before the next cold front approaches & moves through with a few showers Tuesday night into Wednesday.
