Red Flag Warning Connecticut

Elevated Risk New York New Jersey Eastern Pennsylvania

Due to the dry conditions continuing we have an elevated risk for fire today though there are no red flag warnings up for the areas from Eastern Pennsylvania through New York State New Jersey, Hudson Valley, and Long Island. However there is a RED FLAG WARNING UP FOR CONNECTICUT. The one difference today which is important is the wind which is going to be lower today than yesterday. However as you go east there still cold be some gusty winds at times. This is why the red flag warning is up for Connecticut and points eastward.

FIRE RISK ELEVATED HIGH TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON

Fire Risk Elevated Red Flag Warning Connecticut

Satellite & radar wise things are quiet again today. It will be another day of wall to wall sunshine with highs reaching the 60s to perhaps near 70 in some inland areas. Coastal locations will be subject to a south wind later this afternoon and evening as is the case most every afternoon this time of year.

Tonight we will see another night of clear skies and relatively light winds with lows in the 30s in cold spots..but mostly 40s everywhere else. Thursday looks like another nice day with sunshine for most of the day. Clouds however will start coming in from the west during the afternoon ahead of the next cold front. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Then we get some showers on Friday with a cold front moving through.

FIRE RISK ELEVATED NAM MODEL RAINFALL FORECAST THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

Notice this is not impressive at all with regards to the NAM model rainfall forecast. Highest amounts of 1/2 inch or more occur from Southern New Jersey on southward. We might have a better shot for some rain early next week. The weekend looks good with sunshine both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 60s. Here is my latest video regarding the forecast
