The very dry weather conditions continue this afternoon though we are not seeing the extremely desert like numbers like we saw yesterday. Still it is very warm with temperatures in the 70s. The air is still very dry and winds are gusting 20 to 25 mph from the southwest. The fire risk continues through this evening for Northeastern New Jersey, New York City and Southern Westchester County.

At least this is the last day of the very dry conditions as a weather front approaches. Humidity levels will rise tonight and Friday ahead of it. We can already see some showers developing well to the northwest. There is the risk for a passing shower late tonight or early Friday morning but the main shower activity will come later in the day and Friday night.
Friday’s highs will be in the 70s. Then the weekend looks very good with sunshine and dry conditions for Saturday and Sunday. Highs both days should be 65 to 70. The only hang up might be some leftover clouds early Saturday morning along coastal areas as the front clears the coastline. No major storms are on the horizon.
