Tuesday Temperatures
No Widespread Rain Until Friday
The satellite loop shows the battle that is underway for Tuesday. There is a storm east of New Foundland that is driving dry air into the Northeast. We will be on the edge of that dry air today. At the same time just to the south will be a moving area of moisture from west to east. The two areas will be fighting for dominance today and in the end the dry air will win out. However the clouds will put up a bit of a fight for awhile.

High Temperatures Tuesday
The line will probably come right across Northern New Jersey, New York City and Long Island. Areas to the north and east of this line will have no worse than partly sunny skies and temperatures will run to the upper 60s to near 70. However south of this line skies will be overcast at times. This will be especially true from Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania (south of rt 78) southward. There temperatures will be in the 60s and in some cases only in the upper 50s to lower 60s at best. A wind off the ocean will also be a factor in holding temperatures down in those areas.
There is a rain risk for Southernmost New Jersey and extreme Southeastern Pennsylvania though any rain for Tuesday will be on the light side.

High Temperatures Wednesday
Wednesday the dry air to the north will gradually win out and it should push southward into Maryland and Delaware. This should leave most of the area in partly to mostly sunny skies but again there will be a boundary between the mostly sunny and the partly sunny which will effect temperatures. Thursday should be partly sunny as well. Highs both days will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Friday brings a cold front and some showers to everyone which then should be followed by another dry air mass for the weekend. There is a blocking pattern setting all this up and JOESTRADAMUS has more on that.
