Fathers Day Weekend On Course Record Highs Possible Monday
Fathers Day Weekend On Course Record Highs Possible Monday
The satellite loop this afternoon shows the cloud problem that has developed mainly from NYC north & east. New Jersey is sitting in more sunshine especially as you go west and south while the disturbance dropping southeastward from New England has kept the eastern flank in broken to overcast skies. There have even been a few spot showers in a couple of places. The disturbance will move out in the next few hours and skies should begin to clear toward evening. Elsewhere if you have sunshine that should continue into this evening.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
There are no important changes in the forecast for the next three days. We will see lots of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures Saturday will be in the 80s with low humidity. Sunday it will be in the 80s to near 90 with slightly higher humidity. The brutally hot day will be Monday with highs in many areas reaching the mid to upper 90s which will mean record highs for some areas.
MONDAY FORECAST RECORD HIGHS
As far as thunderstorms are concerned there should be nothing on Saturday. Some models show some isolated thunderstorms popping up Sunday evening but most do not. I suppose a small chance is there if something upstream in the flow comes rolling along. I would think a better chance for pop ups might come Monday evening due to the extreme heat. Tuesday looks like the day where some thunderstorms are likely area wide.
The next front is taking longer to work through the area so depending on the time of day we could see temperatures in the 90s again on Tuesday before the front passes. The seeds are there for possibly some severe weather and we will at this closely over the weekend.
