Election Day Weather Calm & Warm
Most of the nation today is experiencing storm free conditions other than an area of rain in the lower Mississippi Valley and not enough to impact turnout in any way. Election day weather is about as calm as it could be. A storm off the Middle Atlantic coast is spinning away and keeping things dry and sunny throughout much of the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states today. Temperatures after a cold start will climb back up into the 60s. It should be pretty much cloud free until later this evening as a cold front approaches from the Great Lakes.
Radars are silent today and tonight but should get a little more active Wednesday morning as this next cold front comes through. Behind it is another quick shot of chilly air that will be in Wednesday night and out by Thursday night..
Showers with this front are unimpressive as we are basically going from one dry air mass to another with not much moisture to play with. The same will hold true for Friday’s cold front which will have nothing more than clouds with it.
This is going to be another quick shot with the coldest air Friday night into Sunday. Temperatures Saturday will be in the 40s and Sunday morning lows will be in the 20s over a large area.
Once we get past Sunday temperatures will moderate again. Weather models are pointing to something happening during the middle of next week but as usual at this stage differ on the details.
