Cold But Winds Slowly Ease Warmer Week Ahead As Spring Nears
Wind advisories have been discontinued but the wind continues to blow this morning. We are seeing gusts above 30 mph at times. That is going to make temperatures today feel colder by about 10 degrees but the good news is that this is mid March. The core of this cold air mass overhead today is going to be moving out quickly. Sunshine today should take most highs to the mid and upper 30s. Winds will slowly ease as the day wears on. Our satellite view shows quiet weather conditions and we expect nothing more than a few passing clouds today. Local radars are quiet.

Tonight skies will be clear with lows in the 20s to around 30. A nice warm up begins Monday as winds turn westward. The March sun is strengthening every day and with sunshine we will see temperatures bounce nicely higher into the 50s everywhere. Local sea breezes along south facing shorelines will develop and those areas will see temperatures ease back into the 40s during the afternoon.
The weather going forward this week looks to be mostly quiet and dry. Weak weather systems will be the signature for this coming week. The first one will be low pressure coming up from the south on Thursday. That looks to stay to our south and east those we will probably see clouds on Thursday. Rain does come close but for now we will lean to the idea that it stays just offshore. Tuesday we see some sunshine and a few clouds. Highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Wednesday we will have a weak onshore flow and that will hold temperatures down a bit. Most highs will be in the 50s with clouds and some sun. Thursday’s highs will be into the 60s. Friday could be the warmest day of the week with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s away from the ocean.
The next weather system of consequence looks to be here on Saturday in the form of a cold front but right now this doesn’t look overly impressive. We will cover for the possibility of some showers dry. Sunday right now is looking like the better of the two weekend days. No major storms are on the horizon and it appears that winter will be going out quietly.
