Cold Air Moves Slowly Out
Cold air came in yesterday in one big blast and now the core of the cold air is going to be moving out. Actually on the satellite loop you can see a storm forming out in the ocean in response to all the cold air that moved in. Last night as temperatures dropped through the teens there were still some local ocean effect snow flurries going on in a few places. Now we have come off the morning lows and these are the current temps as of 9am
We should make it up through the 20s to around 30 by late afternoon. Tonight will be another cold night away from warmer urban areas with lows in the single digits and low teens but without the wind it will be easier to take. Wednesday we should rebound nicely through the 30s to around 40 degrees.
Longer term Thursday and Friday look to be dry and into the 40s though beginning Friday clouds come into the picture as an onshore flow develops. This sets us up for some precipitation on Saturday. I will address the longer range later this morning. Here is FiOS1 News Meteorologist Brian Fitzgerald with your morning forecast for the Lower Hudson Valley!
