Heaters Fireplaces Are Going Full Blast
Heaters Fireplaces are going full blast tonight. Take a look at the current temperatures at 9pm across the region and we are in the single digits to middle teens. The North northwest flow down the Hudson Valley is producing temperatures that are actually lower than models are forecasting by a few degrees. Until the winds turn a little more westerly, temperatures will keep dropping. Top it off we still have gusty winds to 20 to 25 mph so wind chills are running below zero in many locations.
By morning its low teens and single digits everywhere. It wouldn’t be so bad if we had a couple of cold blasts in December to prep us for this but the shock is hitting all at once. We have gone from low 70s to low teens in a matter of 10 days. Even the changes from yesterday are running 20 to 25 degrees colder!!! Stay warm. Temperatures will moderate on Tuesday and so will the wind and we should back up to the mid 20s to lower 30s in most places except in some elevated areas. Wednesday it should be in the 30s to near 40 but Tuesday night could be a another frigid night. At least it will come with light winds. Heaters fireplaces and the like will continue to be required!
