CLOUDY CHILLY TUESDAY COLD THANKSGIVING WEEK

This appears to be a cloudy chilly Tuesday ahead for us as we deal with some offshore clouds to the east that have backed westward to the coast and clouds swinging in from the Ohio Valley as an upper trough moves through. At least from the standpoint of rain there isn’t much to speak of on the radars this morning to the west. There may be enough dry air so that areas to the south in Southern New Jersey & Southeastern Pennsylvania could see some sunshine while areas to the north from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England stay in cloud cover for a good chunk of the day. Temperatures are going to have a tough time of it today with highs in the mid 40s where it is completely overcast to near or just over 50 where the sun can manage to poke through.

Tonight looks to be clear and cold with most lows in the 30s and of course 20s in colder areas inland away from the warmer urban centers. Wednesday looks nice with sunshine and highs in the lower 50s. Thursday we see the next cold front approach with clouds and the chance for a few passing showers. Highs will be in the 50s. Friday looks nice and sunny with highs in the low 50s.

The next important weather feature is a cold front on Saturday which has some punch to it so we will see some showers with that. Once the front passes we get a shot of cold air behind it for Sunday and much of next week. Sunday could see some snow showers as an upper air disturbance swings through along with gusty winds and highs just into the 40s. As far as the longer range is concerned weather models are still diverging over what happens around Thanksgiving.

I still believe it is a question of how much room there will be for anything to develop and we may just wind up being cold and dry all week if the vortex to the north dominates and leaves little space for a system coming out of the Midwest.
