Latest satellite loops show the center of Bonnie inland. However what is happening is the tropical moisture on the northern side is separating away from the core convection and is moving northward. Radars to the south are loading up with rain across Virginia and into Southern Maryland. Rain is scheduled to spread northward tonight through New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania and then eventually across New York City and points north and east overnight. This does not bode well for Monday Memorial Day.

The question for Monday is when the rain will end. The lastest afternoon weather model runs linger rain through the afternoon for much of the area.

For this evening the question is whether skies will be at least partially clear enough to see Manhattenhenge which is when the sunset lines up perfectly with the New York City street grid. It leads to spectacular sunsets. Clouds are moving northward so it will be close. For now pop up showers and storms are developing well to the north so at least that issue might be off the table.
