Arriving Clouds Ahead of Some Inland Icing Tonight
Dry and colder air will be with us today and you will notice the difference from 60s yesterday to mid 30s to lower 40s today. Skies will start with sunshine but then give way to arriving clouds as the storm from the southwestern US that brought all the devastating tornadoes to Dallas and the blizzard conditions to West Texas and New Mexico moves northeastward.
You can begin to see an expanding area of rain across the Midwest as well as the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. Since there is no cold air in these areas it is all rain. The cold air resides across the interior northeast and it is sinking southward but will only get so far south. No weather issues at all today for our area however look for the rain to spread into the cold air late this afternoon and this evening across Pennsylvania.
Temperatures today will be in the mid 30s north to lower 40s south and middle 40s Southern New Jersey. Tonight we will see sleet and freezing rain developing.
